Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born on April 15, 1990, in Oxford, England. Her parents, Jacqueline Duerre and Chris
Watson, are both lawyers and her younger brother, Alex, was born in 1993. Emma's parents divorced in 1995 and Emma spends
time with both parents. As a young girl, Emma attended The Dragon School, a renowned preparatory school in Oxford. By
2003, she was attending the all-girls Headington School in the city of Oxford.
Before being cast in the Harry Potter films, Watson's acting experience was limited, consisting only of leading roles
in school plays, including Arthur: The Young Years and The Happy Prince. Other school activities included the Daisy Pratt
Poetry Competition, in which she won first place for her year (age seven).
Watson was cast to play Hermione Granger at age 10, and was 11 years old in 2001, when Harry Potter and the Philosopher's
Stone (released in the United States as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone), her first film, was released. She has since
appeared in all Potter sequels: Chamber of Secrets (2002), Prisoner of Azkaban (2004), and Goblet of Fire (2005). Emma is
right now filming Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix in England, the film is due out in 2007. Emma would love to act
in other films rather then Harry Potter and she knows playing Hermione isn't gonna last forever.
At the age of fifteen,
Watson was the youngest actress to appear on the cover of Teen Vogue magazine. She also served on a jury, along with Pierce
Brosnan, Kenneth Branagh, and Samantha Morton, to select the 2004 teenaged filmmakers' "First Light Film Award" ceremony in
Leicester Square in London.
An avid sports player, Watson enjoys field hockey, tennis and rounders. The family owns two cats, named Bubbles and Domino,
which belong to her and her brother, respectively. Emma shares her name with her grandmother, and with a fictional character
in The Watsons, an unfinished novel by English author Jane Austen (later completed by English writer Joan Aiken in her 1996
novel Emma Watson: The Watsons Completed).

Why do we love Emma Watson?? We love her because she's cool, seems down to earth, funny and is very beautiful. We liked
Emma from the word go but only faniced her from the 3rd film onwards! Our love for Emma is going out of control but we can't
help it, she's got us under her spell. One thing that does upset us is the fact alot of the Harry potter fans don't like Emma
playing Hermione. They have mixed opinions about Watson's portrayal of Granger: Some feel she is perfect for the role; others
believe Watson fails to capture Hermione's insecurities and flaws, and complain that she is "too pretty" for the role —
a sentiment shared by some film critics — since, in the book series, Granger was generally described as being very "plain"
(neither "pretty" nor "ugly"). The screenplays for the films, however, have made her a more powerful and prominent character
than originally written by J. K. Rowling, causing some fans to complain that it alters the chemistry and group dynamic of
the three central characters.
Yet we dont care! Emma is GREAT as Hermione and no one better say anything nasty about her around us! We want Emma to
play Hermione until the very last film coz changing any of the cast would be STUPID! SAVE EMMA WATSON! Sorry got carried
away!
EMMA WATSON ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
